Labiaplasty
Excess labial tissue is often caused by recent pregnancy, weight loss, menopause or the natural aging process. The condition can even be linked to certain genetic factors.

Benefits of Labiaplasty
Labiaplasty can address a number of conditions associated with elongated labial tissue. Benefits of this procedure include:
- Reduction of excess tissue
- Recontouring and rejuvenation of skin and tissues in the vaginal area
- The ability to wear certain types of clothing without discomfort
- Enhanced comfort during sexual intimacy
- Renewed self-esteem
How is Labiaplasty performed?
Dr. Ambay will meet with you for a private, complimentary consultation here at Ambay Plastic Surgery to talk with you about your options. You are encouraged to ask any questions you may have. Dr. Ambay will listen attentively to your concerns and explain all aspects of the Labiaplasty procedure so that you feel comfortable and confident before you have the procedure.
There are many different types of Labiaplasty. Once Dr. Ambay has determined the Labiaplasty technique that will be most beneficial for your needs and goals, he will create a customized treatment plan. Most Labiaplasty procedures take only about one hour or less to complete and are typically performed on an outpatient basis.
After Labiaplasty surgery, there will be some swelling and discomfort around the treatment area for a few days. You will be given medication to alleviate any pain you may feel during recovery. Depending on the extent of treatment, it may take several weeks for the treated area to completely heal. Dr. Ambay often finds that patients are able to resume many daily activities after a good four or five days of rest. Patients should avoid activities that may cause the application of direct pressure to the treatment area for at least six weeks.
